Copse popped up on my radar when Church Road Records sent me a stream of there upcoming album, MMXXIV. This is actually just two of their EP's combined. You can listen to them right now separately but if you wait a bit you can grab the album when it is released.

METAL MAKE ME HAPPY

This band is badass. They remind me a lot of Deafheaven which is to me a kind of a brighter sounding type of black metal. There is a good mix of agressive drums, melodic instrumental sections and in between the vocalist screaming, some pretty good singing. If you are looking to get into black metal but have not found a palatable band in the genre, this is an excellent place to start. With 5 songs the album is a lengthy 40min listen, so don't let the short track list let you think this is still just an EP.
